Great Expectations (Kingdom/Drama Roleplay)

Alright! So I've decided that I fancy to bring in a new game for us to work on. It is based on the Three Kingdoms, with Adohai being Liu Shan and Beiyen being Liu Bei, though want to change the storyline a little, and twist the story around to make our own, and wanted to see what people thought, since it is not necessary to have Dynasty Warriors/Three Kingdoms knowledge, but can be a bonus, but not essential.

Now the Three Kingdoms, the novel, is known as the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, so there will be romance, there will be drama, will be action, and since we're twisting it into our own thing, the outcome can go either way. I am debating whether I should add creatures in, or not, but what I am thinking of doing, is perhaps added a bit of the "Strikeforce" series, and having the mages/strategists have some sort of power which allows them to perform magic, so we have that fantasy element!

Now below, is a brief story introduction which I've put together. Probably needs fixing up, expanding upon (for the other Dynasties for example) and of course the name of the country itself, so feel free to offer any ideas up either on here or pm to me :D

"To be strong is to make enemies. To be weak is to make enemies. Therefore, I must be weak in order for us all to remain strong, yet....Oh this is so complicated..." - Emperor Adohai Dracean

Adohai has been made Emperor after the death of his father, Beiyen Dracean. Beiyen was a strong man and often referred to as the "Golden Dragon". Beiyen was born in a village as a servant, but when he saw his friends in danger, he sought men to help him defend their village. His victory, against such odds, regardless of experience, spoke volumes across the land, and ever since, Beiyen wished to do more for the people in other villages, but then he heard about their Governors and Rulers who exploited them and made them the way they were, and so, Beiyen decided he'd stand up for them.

Beiyen appealed to the Emperor, but due to his status, he only recieved a small province, before being invited by a Lord of a nearby province who was dying and wished for him to take over it. When he died, Beiyen resumed control, but forces came to attack, and all Beiyen could do was flee with those who supported him.

There are many ideas how Beiyen got from that stage to where he was, but all the time, Beiyen remained strong, stood strong, yet to others, he was seen as a major threat without even having a large army to back him up. As if my magic, Beiyen's influence grew and men flocked to him and established the Draconas Dynasty, for it would be the dragons (dragon warriors) who would defend them both in air and ground.

Gathering such strength, Beiyen was seen as a threat, and as such, past enemies joined forces, as one attacked Beiyan's land and drew Beiyen's brother out before feigning retreat, only for Beiyen's brother to be killed by an ambush of their former ally. Beiyen, fearing for more dirty tactics to occur, and not wishing any harm to come to his people or his family, made an all out assault, attacking various outposts. His strength was formidable, but due to the tactics of the joined leaders, Beiyen was called and offered an ultimatum to Adohai.

Adohai had grown in the Palace, and since he reached the age of 16, he begun his sword training, reading the odd book now and then, since he had his father's shadow to hide in, but now that his fathers' shadow was no longer there, he had to start his acting career *literally*

From what he had read, there had been many great strong men in the past, but each of them were eventually defeated. Adohai knew this and that, but if he dared fight back, he'd be afraid that he'll lose, since he is not as strong as his father, and many already have lost faith in him for not continuing his fathers' path. Afterall, though Adohai is Emperor, he don't really act the part, but wants peace to remain as long as he can, but will his retainers stick with him? or take matters into their own hands?
__________

From the introduction, can see that there is some drama that can spark, with those who may not want to remain. Though it is based on Three Kingdoms/Dynasty Warriors, it is NOT mandatory for Dynasty Warriors characters to be taken, as I would love to see some original characters also.

Let me know your thoughts, and any ideas you may have to expand on this. I won't be able to reply, since I'm going to be away for a few days on hols with family, before I go college (Don't worry, I ams sticking with you guys - like glue!), but wanted to shoot this idea out there, and seeing where it may lead.....
