These automobiles have either been recently unearthed or sympathetically restored. Some of the highlights of the auction include a 1915 Packard Model 3-38 Six Gentleman?s Roadster, 1929 Pierce-Arrow Model 125 Dual Cowl Phaeton, 1931 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A Two-Door Faux Cabriolet, and a 1965 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Limousine. The launch of a new book entitled The Stewardship of Historically Important Automobiles will also take place during the auction.

The automobiles that will be offered at the auction will be on display in the museum on the 6th and 7th of October. Facebook Gifts swaps virtual trinkets for real life goods

Remember the Facebook Gift Shop, that place where you could pick up virtual Troll dolls and send them to your friends? Well, it died. But, a phoenix has arisen from its ashes -- Facebook Gifts -- which will allow you to send real Troll dolls to your friends. You'll be able to order gifts for people directly through the social network and suggestions to pick up a little something will be tied into birthday reminders and life events like weddings. The new initiative is the result of its decision to purchase Karma, a social "gifting" app, in May. Over a 100 retailers have signed up for the launch, including Starbucks, and Facebook obviously will be taking a small cut of each sale, which could be a huge source of monetization for the company, especially on the mobile front. Interestingly, friends can be notified before a gift is delivered and will be given a chance to tweak orders -- just in case you don't know your mom as well as you think you do. Gifts is rolling out slowly in select cities now and will expand in the coming weeks. Though, it also has a viral element since once you've been sent a gift you are also blessed with the ability to send gifts yourself. Check out the source links for more details.

Collectables - The Gerber Babies Blog Product Reviews and ...

I live in a small corner of the world filled with drivers suffering from road rage and shoppers that flock to sales as part of a massive, and sometimes angry mob. I keep my sanity (and stay happy) by doing the majority of my shopping online. Maybe that's how I keep my husband happy too. He doesn't get pushed and pulled by the crowds and he doesn't have to fight for a spot on a bench?outside the department stores?while I window shop or go on a shopping spree. Online shopping is much more pleasant and with a few clicks, I can be at my favorite store within seconds. My UK friends usually have access to sites I envy. It's not fair when I fall in love with something new and then find out I can't have it delivered here. I was thrilled when I found Collectables online and stumbled upon the words international delivery. While they have many of my favorite items that I can find here in the states, they have a few that I can't. Right now, their Kipling Bags are on sale. I have one and I love to use it when I travel. It's lightweight and perfect for all seasons. I like using it for theme parks and other adventures where I may stay dry...or not. The material seems to dry out quickly and they are very durable! Plus, there is a place for everything!!! They also have Yankee Candle products which I burn everyday. I love Fresh Cut Roses!!!?Collectables has a few kitchen products that I haven't seen before. Their Taylor Eye Witness Slanted Knife Block is just what I need to add a little life into my kitchen. It makes quite the statement! It's on sale right now and you can save 50%!
They have Ribbonwick Candles (have you seen these?!?) in several different shapes and sizes. I want one for myself and maybe another?give to a friend. If I like it as much as I think I will, I'll have to rethink the gift for my friend! I also loved their kitchen linens. I have a drawer full of tea towels, but I could always use a few more. Visit Collectables online or at one of their store?locations. They offer secure online shopping and easy returns!

White Sox lose, fall out of AL Central lead

CHICAGO (AP) ? For two months the Chicago White Sox had been ahead or tied for the lead in the AL Central. Now, with just a week left, they're looking up at the Detroit Tigers.

Their pitching was wild Wednesday night, issuing 12 walks in a 6-4 loss to the Cleveland Indians that knocked them into second place for the first time since July 23. Losers of seven of their last eight, the White Sox now have seven games left to regroup or a successful season will end in the ultimate disappointment with no playoffs.

Detroit, which beat Kansas City 5-4 Wednesday night, has a one-game lead.

"You're talking about a game lead, two-game, everything is so fragile. You talk about the momentum swings that can happen. This is one of them, the wrong way," Chicago first baseman Paul Konerko said.

"It doesn't mean in two days it doesn't swing the other way ... It was tough out there tonight. We didn't deserve to win that game. This is the big leagues. You got to play all nine innings, you got to play well to beat a team."

The White Sox had a 3-1 lead after the first inning, but they couldn't hold off the Indians because their pitchers couldn't throw strikes. And for the second straight game, their starter didn't get out of the fourth inning.

"You can't win a game walking 12 guys. It seemed like every inning there were guys all over the bases," Chicago catcher A.J. Pierzynski said. "We have to find a way to win games. We jump out to a lead and we have to shut them down. Tonight we weren't able to do that."

Shin-Soo Choo had a go-ahead RBI grounder in the seventh off Matt Thornton (4-9) and Vinny Rottino hit his first homer for Cleveland in the eighth off Brett Myers. The Indians ? who are 21-50 since the All-Star break ? won two of three at U.S. Cellular Field.

"We played a pretty good series, we had a lot of good at-bats today, for the third day in a row we're able to play well against a left-handed pitcher, which we had struggled the whole year," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "We put together a lot of good at-bats and ended up with 12 walks. That really helped us out."

Lou Marson drew his third walk of the game with one out in the seventh and after a double by Ezequiel Carrera, Choo hit an RBI grounder to first.

Alexei Ramirez's two-out RBI double in the fifth put Chicago ahead 4-3.

But Choo doubled to open the sixth and then the Indians drew three straight walks ? the final one on a 12-pitch at-bat by Carlos Santana against reliever Nate Jones ? to force in the tying run. With the bases still loaded, Thornton got Travis Hafner to hit into a 1-2-3 double play.

Tony Sipp (1-2) pitched one-third of an inning for the win and Chris Perez finished in the ninth for his 38th save in 42 chances. He issued the Indians' sixth walk of the game and after a throwing error by shortstop Brent Lillibridge, he retired Konerko on a fly to shallow left to end it.

Chicago now plays four at home against another team still in the running for the postseason, the Tampa Bay Rays, and then finishes the season with three at Cleveland.

"Obviously, now you need help. Even if you win out, they can win out, and it doesn't work," Konerko said. "That's about it."

The Tigers finish a series with Kansas City at home on Thursday and then close the season with six road games against the Twins and the Royals.

Pierzynski, who played on Chicago's World Series-winning team with Konerko in 2005, said the White Sox's approach will be the same over the final week.

"There's no pressing. I don't think anything is going to change," he said. "I don't see guys coming in tomorrow nervous as they can be or trying too hard."

The White Sox scored three in the bottom of the first off Cleveland starter Justin Masterson, loading the bases on a walk and back-to-back singles by Kevin Youkilis and Adam Dunn. Paul Konerko drew a walk to force in a run, Alex Rios hit a sacrifice fly and A.J. Pierzynski had an RBI double for a 3-1 lead.

Masterson lasted 4 2-3 innings, giving up seven hits, four runs and four walks.

Chicago starter Hector Santiago was in trouble throughout, struggling with his control from the outset and making it through only 3 1-3 innings.

He gave up two walks and an RBI single to Russ Canzler in the first. And Cleveland got two in the fourth to tie it. After a single and two more walks loaded the bases, reliever Brian Omogrosso was greeted by Jason Kipnis' two-run single.

NOTES: Rottino, who entered the game in the seventh, had two homers earlier this season while with the Mets. ... The Indians left 14 on base. ... Rios' sacrifice fly gave him 88 RBIs, tying the career high he set with the White Sox in 2010. ... Cleveland SS Asdrubal Cabrera left the game after batting in the top of the first because of a mid-back strain. Lillibridge took over at short. ... Indians CF Michael Brantley (sore groin) was out of the lineup for the third consecutive game. After Thursday's day off, manager Manny Acta said Brantley should be ready to play Friday. . INF Jason Donald (right hand) hit Wednesday during a simulated game and might be available for full duties on Friday.

Google Play hits 25 billion app downloads, holds celebratory yard sale with $0.25 games

Google Play hits 25 billion app downloads, offers select 25-cent titles this week

Google Play crossed a rather significant milestone this morning: something to the tune of 25 billion app downloads. While the accomplishment is weighty enough on its own -- especially given that the store also offers books, music and movies, which aren't included in this tally -- Google is celebrating in symbolic style with a number of apps and games for sale at just $0.25 over the next five days. Among the mix of discounted titles, you'll find publishers such as Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, Runtastic and Full Fat. Not to stop there, shoppers will also discover a curated collection of 25 must-own movies, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and 25 top-selling magazines.

With today's announcement, it was revealed that 675,000 apps and games now live in Google Play -- a healthy increase when compared to 600,000 titles and 20 billion installs just three months ago. As you might expect, Apple still claims the largest selection with 700,000 titles in its App Store, although with such a thin separation between the two, we may see Google Play eclipse its rival in short order.

Sony's PlayStation 3 getting 'PSN Day 1 Digital' to launch games digitally alongside retail

Sony's PlayStation 3 getting 'PSN Day 1 Digital' to launch games digitally alongside retail

Taking a cue from Nintendo's Wii U, Sony's PlayStation 3 is getting digital versions of some games delivered at the same time as their physical counterparts starting next week with Resident Evil 6 and NBA 2K13. via "PSN Day 1 Digital." Unlike Nintendo's initiative, however, Sony's is third-party focused -- not one game on its initial list of eight titles is published by any of Sony's international publishing studios.

It's unclear whether this is a full-on initiative for Sony's PlayStation 3 or a promotion for October alone, but Sony's PlayStation blog calls PSN Day 1 Digital "a new program," which indicates it's something more than just a one month promo -- all the same, we've asked Sony for more info. Beyond just offering a smattering of games digitally at launch, PSN Day 1 Digital allows for pre-orders, and even offers a 10 percent discount on 007: Legends should you pre-order as a PlayStation Plus member. Head past the break for the full list of titles.

10 tips for School Time with your Toddler | Family Treasures

Creating a special time (if you are at home or have time in the evenings or weekend) with your toddler to learn about words, numbers and the wonders of the world is a wonderfully rewarding experience. You may not be able to manage this everyday but it is worth the effort to try at least 3 times a week. Where do you start?

Here are our 10 tips for ?School Time? with your Toddler. We call it ?Homework? in our house but you can call it anything you like:

  1. Go to your local library, it?s free! Find books that can be read (stories) and find some learning books, you will be surprised what is available.
  2. Choose a theme for the day. We had a snail and slugs day?for my dear daughter! Your child finds great excitement in exploring the world around them, take their lead.
  3. Local Book/Stationery stores also now stock a wide variety of work books aimed at toddlers.
  4. Have activity-specific days (on top of your theme for the day). For instance, today could be a words/letters day and tomorrow could be numbers/maths. Plan a specific day for crafts/creativity as these activities are messy and take longer. You really want to enjoy this and not rush your child.
  5. Make it fun. Remember that children learn best when at play, so make sure whatever you do is fun, or that there is something fun to look forward to ? even a pretty, sparkly sticker does the trick!
  6. Playdough is a great item to explore creativity with and is very therapeutic. Make your own: http://familytreasures.co.za/2010/05/playdough-recipe
  7. Explore Nature ? go for walks, visit the beach, watch animals. There is so much you can learn from just being in Nature (or even just going for a walk around the block!).
  8. Make sure you have a routine so that your child knows what to expect and you can plan appropriately. Try to be consistent but don?t beat yourself up if everything does not work out just as planned. If you both just want to climb under the blankets and read or sleep or if you have a sick child, do what works for you that day.
  9. Computer Time. Sooner or later, your child will need to learn how to use the computer. I do think, however, this time should be limited. My daughter, because of the work her mommy does, can switch on the computer, open a word document, do what she needs to do and switch off the computer (different generation!). But, her time is limited?tick tock. When mommy says, time to switch off, she has learnt to do just that. I sit with her and teach her how to use the computer and then allow her to explore by herself.
  10. Keep Active. Remember that your child needs to learn about their own body, keeping it healthy, doing exercise and eating the right foods. Let your child help you to prepare healthy foods. Play fun games such as Hide-and-Go-Seek and Simon Says, get those bodies moving. Ride your bicycles or?go for a hike or swim.

Try to keep fun, always fun!

Tell us what you do with your child, comment below.
